CD Publishing uses all the basic elements of normal print publishing and expands upon them by taking the item being published and turning it into a digital display as opposed to being printed on paper.
The actual items being published to CD can be as basic as photographic images , documents, files, etc. or, they can be as advanced as an auto play CD that loads up and presents a graphics enhanced presentation with user interaction.
Many companies use CD publishing to put a sales presentation in a enhanced format and then pass those out at conventions. Because the cost of CD media is pretty inexpensive, it allows for a sizeable amount to be given out without a huge cost.
Depending on the amounts that are going to be published, they can be either Duplication or Replicated.
