Amazon.com Early in the second season of The Big Bang Theory, Sheldon (Emmy nominee Jim Parsons) asks Penny (Kaley Cuoco), "When did we become friends?" For a smart guy, Sheldon misses a lot. But for the record, season 1 answered the question of whether or not an adorkable group of geniuses can become friends with the hot girl next door (yes!). Season 2 shows us what that friendship looks like, and it's awesome, especially when it includes a rousing game of "Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock." Sheldon's roommate Leonard (Johnny Galecki) wants to be more than friends with Penny, but the richest relationship of the show is that of Penny and Sheldon. He uses the "covenant of friendship" to get Penny to give him rides, he engages in an over-caffeinated business venture with her, and in the excellent Christmas episode, they exchange gifts and share a surprisingly touching moment. (Sheldon's midseason efforts to befriend a colleague can't compare.) Penny is forever changed by the guys, even telling a date about Schrodinger's cat and delving into online gaming. The extras, including a gag reel and interviews with the cast and crew, reveal the stars to be as appealing and connected to each other as their characters. --Stephanie Reid-Simons

Extremely smart and funny show! July 25, 2010 Paul C. Tackett (Battle Creek, MI United States) I have really enjoyed watching The Big Bang Theory in the last 3 years. Having recently purchased the first 2 seasons on DVD and watching them back-to-back, I really noticed the growth of the show. The character dynamics really hit their stride in the 2nd season. There are several classic "behaviors" that don't even show up until this season, including "Penny... Penny... Penny" and "Bazinga!"
The acting is great, the jokes are smart, and the chemistry is fun to watch.
Sheldon rules July 24, 2010 Jami Fairbanks (Bloomington, IL, US) I hate to say this but Sheldon needs to get more often, what a great episode!!
It had to grow on me, but now I'm hooked!! July 21, 2010 J. Babcock (Seattle, WA) Rarely does a comedy make me actually laugh out loud. I think the last show to make me laugh like this was Friends. If you haven't seen it, check it out!
Best Comedy going! July 10, 2010 T. Coyle (Lakeland, Florida USA) This DVD set was great, it is my favorite show right now. The show itself was even better in the second year than the first. The chemistry between all of the characters has grown. I think Walowitz especially excelled during season 2.
One big plus is that you get the bonus of watching the show without commercials.
Finally, since the shows are only about 20 minutes long, you can watch two episodes in a row usually.
One of my favorites from season 2 featured a train trip with a special guest appearance by an actress who has been in Sci Fi movies and TV that all of the guys (except Sheldon) hit on, it is hilarious. Overall, this is definitely a 5 star rating.
excellent service July 7, 2010 cj Have not gotten to watch it, as it is a gift, but so far so good!
